An ambitious director will leave no stone unturned in her production of a fiendishly difficult and disturbing play. The Maiden's Toy features a fast-moving account of the weeks leading up to the unveiling of her new production and focuses on the director's increasingly twisted relationship with her young leading male. We get to know them a little better.
A good physical performance goes a long way in the dating arena, but being made to laugh is one of the best feelings in the world.
Tell us about yourself….
Well, I’m a young show but I like to think of myself as mature for our age, funny, quite complex- occasionally a little dark- but really we just want to show someone a good time.
Do you come here often?
I’ve flirted with Edinburgh before but never had anything as serious as EdFringe.
Who do you most want to meet at the festival?
I think someone who’s not afraid to try something new, who’s willing to be challenged, someone who’s intelligent- daring even.
Early to rise or late to bed?
Both: okay, it’s not conducive to good health but a sunrise looks all the more magical if you’re delirious through a lack of sleep.
What’s better? Physical theatre or stand up comedy?
Well, a good physical performance goes a long way in the dating arena, but being made to laugh is one of the best feelings in the world.
Are you monogamous to EdFringe, or do you date other festivals?
I tend to be a pretty loyal show so EdFringe only at the moment, but you never know who you might meet.
Can we get a second date?
If you play your cards right and enjoy the date, then I’m hopeful another can be arranged in the not too distant future.
