SpaceDating: The Grimmest of Grim Tales

We spend a few minutes with The Grimmest of Grim Tales, but our chat was anything but.

Most of all, I would like to meet as many people as I can possibly cram into my venue! I’m not fussy; I love anyone who enjoys great stories and comedy even if they have a terrible haircut and rubbish trousers!

Tell us about yourself….

Well now, I am fun, funny, sometimes daft and occasionally a little dark! Always irreverent, with a penchant for organised chaos, comedy and original music. I love the unusual which is why I am revealing to you some of the lesser known Grimm Tales – the Grimmest in fact! Did you know that the Brothers Grimm had over 200 tales in their original collection? Frankly I am over hearing about Cinders and Snow White – how about some of the weirder, more bizarre characters? Death for example or a Hedgehog that can play the bagpipes? Far more interesting! Fun for all the family and almost educational… kind of…

Do you come here often?

Actually no! This is my first visit to the Fringe. Always excited to try new experiences… you never know what might occur!

Who do you most want to meet at the festival?

Most of all, I would like to meet as many people as I can possibly cram into my venue! I’m not fussy; I love anyone who enjoys great stories and comedy even if they have a terrible haircut and rubbish trousers! Of course, it would be marvelous to meet some lovely venue managers, directors, producers and other Arty Types who fall madly in love with my style, ideas and sense of humour who can develop me to my full potential and whisk me off on a whirlwind tour of the UK – romantic or platonic ,I’ll consider all offers…

Early to rise or late to bed?

Normally I love sleeping in until noon – who doesn’t? But whilst at the Fringe I’m up with the lark! Early, early, early shows, bright eyed and bushy tailed I’m guaranteed to wake you up – there’ll be no snoozing whilst I’m on darlings!

What’s your passion?

I am passionate about stories! A good tale, well told is a marvelous thing. A good story can make you laugh and cry and maybe even change your life! I think everyone deep down loves a good story, and everyone has a story to tell! Comedy is also a great love of mine, so a funny story is always going to grab my attention!

Can we get a second date?

Of course! I always believe in going for a second date! After all, I may have missed something truly gorgeous the first time around, nerves can do that. A second date is usually far more relaxed!

Since you’re here…

… we have a small favour to ask. We don't want your money to support a hack's bar bill at Abattoir, but if you have a pound or two spare, we really encourage you to support a good cause. If this article has either helped you discover a gem or avoid a turkey, consider doing some good that will really make a difference.

You can donate to the charity of your choice, but if you're looking for inspiration, there are three charities we really like.

Mama Biashara
Kate Copstick’s charity, Mama Biashara, works with the poorest and most marginalised people in Kenya. They give grants to set up small, sustainable businesses that bring financial independence and security. That five quid you spend on a large glass of House White? They can save someone’s life with that. And the money for a pair of Air Jordans? Will take four women and their fifteen children away from a man who is raping them and into a new life with a moneymaking business for Mum and happiness for the kids.

Theatre MAD
The Make A Difference Trust fights HIV & AIDS one stage at a time. Their UK and International grant-making strategy is based on five criteria that raise awareness, educate, and provide care and support for the most vulnerable in society. A host of fundraising events, including Bucket Collections, Late Night Cabarets, West End Eurovision, West End Bares and A West End Christmas continue to raise funds for projects both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa.
