Broadway Baby and Luca Wu have a chat about his upcoming show.

Plays of images and clips will contribute to making of the show an original and engaging visual-acoustic experience.

Tell us about your show

The show will see Luca Wu and Reverse Context performing in alternation - accompanied by the same band - in a musical itinerary that will propose a wide range of textures and sounds, from captivating pop/rock melodies and rhythms to intriguing and refined timbral alchemies. Plays of images and clips will contribute to making of the show an original and engaging visual-acoustic experience.

Why did you decide to take your show to Space UK this year?

We were eager to be part of such an exciting festival as the Fringe, and after extensive research we thought Space UK could offer us the best location and production for our show.

What makes your show unique amongst the thousands of others at the festival?

The fact that the show will see two composers/singer-songwriters performing in alternation offering a rich palette of musical landscapes makes of it a distinct and intense experience. It's an unique itinerary designed to guide the audience through the emotions of music.

What has been the biggest challenge in getting your show ready for Edinburgh?

Organizing the rehearsals has been tricky, since the musicians come from different parts of the UK, France and Italy.

How did you create your show?

Each one of us composers wrote his pieces on his own. Then we selected the songs we thought could fit better in the show, and we worked jointly on the visual projections that will be an integral part of it.

Can you tell us a bit about your company’s background?

We cannot properly define it as a company. Luca Wu and Reverse Context have different previous experiences and they are working together for the first time. Luca Wu has brought his music in Europe and Asia, especially in China, to important theatres and festivals. Reverse Context works as a composer of the musical avant-garde performing at European festivals such as the Venice Biennale.

If your show does well in Edinburgh, what do you want to do with it next?

After we started designing the show, we were captured by the emotions it conveys. We plan to invest heavily in the promotion of the show and we hope to get good feedbacks from the audience and critics for the performance in Edinburgh. We're planning a tour across Europe, Dubai, China/Taiwan, Japan and Brazil.
