Jem Brookes’ Edinburgh Festival Fringe offering, Punusual comes straight from this year's inaugural UK Pun Championships at the Leicester Comedy Festival. Expect an hour puns and silly jokes delivered from a professional wordsmith.

I started writing for BBC Radio 4 topical comedy show Weekending and then BBC Radio 2's The News Huddlines. And then I started doing stand-up as an extension of that. Doing that was more fun than real life.

“This show contains no great self-revelations or confessional, or theme, just lots and lots of silly jokes plus a bit of audience interaction thrown in as well. Grab a pint, pull up a chair and come and have a good laugh.”

Why did you choose to perform as part of Laughing Horse?

“Cost of producing a show is the main factor. This way I can do the festival and MAKE money, not lose thousands.”

Why did you get into performing comedy and how did you get started?

“I started writing for BBC Radio 4 topical comedy show Weekending and then BBC Radio 2's The News Huddlines. And then I started doing stand-up as an extension of that. Doing that was more fun than real life.”

Tell us your best and worst experiences as a comedian.

“The best is yet to come. The worst is yet to come.”

If you were curating a stand up show for television, who would be your guests?

“Jo Brand, Eddie Izzard, Steven Wright. People who inspired me to get into this whole thing in the first place.”
