Moon Fly Theatre Company is bringing its debut production to EdFringe 2015. A Face That Fits deals with the differences and clashes across generations.

It all started over a year ago, when writer Sean Dennis Langtree was travelling on a train between Edinburgh and Glasgow when he was approached by an intoxicated artist. The artist requested to draw Sean, to which he obliged.

Tell us about your show

A young man is sitting alone on a park bench. Enter stranger who requests to draw him. Intrigued, the young man agrees. A Face That Fits is a coming of age story that deals with the clashes of two different generations. The two characters then start dealing with the times, the past, the differences and similarities that the young and older generations find on a daily basis. Is there some mystery between the ‘Boy’ and ‘Man’?

Why did you decide to take your show to Space UK this year?

Simply, Space Uk showed a great amount of interest in the project. This started back in August 2014 and the enthusiasm shown by Charles Pamment in particular was very pleasing. We didn’t feel the need to look for any more venue options.

What are you most looking forward to at this year’s festival?

This is Moon Fly Theatre’s debut production. The most exciting thing is to get the work out there, get the company out there. It’s also Sean Dennis Langtree’s debut play, so this is a fantastic opportunity for name and product.

Why Edinburgh? What’s the attraction?

I would be surprised if anyone in the theatre world has never heard of The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The atmosphere is like no other, and this is where it starts for many up and coming Writers, actors and directors.

How did you create your show?

It all started over a year ago, when writer Sean Dennis Langtree was travelling on a train between Edinburgh and Glasgow when he was approached by an intoxicated artist. The artist requested to draw Sean, to which he obliged. This was something that stuck with him and created opportunities in the difference between generations. How often do people sit on their phones on the train instead of reading, writing etc? He saw this as a rarity and wanted to write it down.
