What do people need to know about you?

You can also find me on the street, playing saxophone

I’ve been travelling the world as a performance poet and street musician (saxophone) for the last thirty years. I’ve won a fair few poetry slams, including the London, UK and BBC Slam poetry championships. My work is heavily influenced by the diverse, international London spoken-word scene.

What are you up to this Fringe?

I’m doing a show called BUILDING GOD at the Banshee Labyrinth. It’s a look at some of the great revolutions of the last century, what was inspiring about them, how they’ve been trashed by mainstream media – and about the importance of learning from them, both their achievements and mistakes. It’s combines poetry spit over tracks by CloudFistConcepts with some more personal heart-to-heart talk and one (so far unfinished) song on the guitar. I’ve developed this over the past year through performances all over London and the UK. You can also find me on the street, playing saxophone and singing – just about any kind of music that has a good rhythm and a strong melody. I will also be doing guest spots at various shows, including, Stand Up and Slam, Poets Against Humanity – and I’ll be doing a feature in Glasgow on August 5th at Shut the Fuck Up (STFU).

What else are you going to see?

The top two would be Loud Poets, and SHIFT/ – A Best of Spoken Word, because they feature some of the best poets on the Scottish scene. Then all the spoken word shows at PBH Free Fringe: Matt Panesh, Fanny Walker, Mike Galsworthy, Dan Simpson, Paula Varjack, Harry Baker, Rob Auton and more…

What is your favourite word?

Peanut butter (I cheat a lot)
