Srangers: A Magic Play weaves theatre and magic for a unique experience. Broadway Baby finds out more.
A lot of people perform magic wrong. They’ll perform trick after trick without any link or thread running through them, which we find a waste of potential.
Tell us about yourself….
I guess you could say we’re a unique show. In the way that a musical blends theatre with music and lyrics we blend theatre with magic and illusion, interweaving dramatic narratives and magical moments to create a truly one of a kind piece of performance.
Do you come here often?
This is our first trip up to the festival, but fingers crossed it’ll be the first of many!
Who do you most want to meet at the festival?
We really want to meet anyone that loves magic or innovative theatre. If you’re out there and reading this then come along to our show and have yourself a fun fifty minutes of entertainment, drama and amazement.
What’s your passion?
A lot of people perform magic wrong. They’ll perform trick after trick without any link or thread running through them, which we find a waste of potential. Magic can be performed so much more powerfully and we have found that pairing dramatic narratives with well placed magical occurrences allows that power to be revealed. This is our passion.
Are you monogamous to EdFringe, or do you date other festivals?
We can’t lie, EdFringe is not the only festival that we’re seeing. We’re also performing at STUFF, a new fringe festival in Nottingham, on the 14th-15th of June and previewing at various places in London in late July/early August.
Can we get a second date?
We’ve absolutely loved our time here and are definitely up for a second date. Why don’t you check out www.MagicStrangers.com and we’ll see where we go from there ;)
